The Mathematics course is designed to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge to understand mathematical concepts, apply them in real-world situations, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The course encompasses a wide range of topics that progressively build on each other from elementary to advanced levels, preparing students for further studies in mathematics, science, engineering, and technology. Through both theoretical and practical applications, students will engage with various mathematical disciplines including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and probability.

This course is designed for students from Grade 1 to Grade 12, with content tailored to each age group’s cognitive and developmental level. The course starts with basic number concepts and progresses to more advanced topics, catering to students' evolving mathematical needs and helping them gain a solid foundation in mathematics.

Basic Arithmetic:
Students will begin by mastering the basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Focus will be placed on the understanding of place value, simple fractions, and decimals.

Number Properties:
Students will learn about even and odd numbers, prime numbers, and the concepts of factors and multiples.

Patterns and Sequences:
Introduction to numerical patterns, simple sequences, and the concept of growth in numbers.

Applications:
Real-world applications, including simple calculations related to money, measurement, and time.

Introduction to Variables and Expressions:
Students will learn how to use variables to represent numbers and create algebraic expressions. Simple equations and inequalities will also be introduced.

Solving Linear Equations:
The focus will be on solving one-variable linear equations and inequalities, understanding the principles of balance in equations.

Polynomials:
Introduction to polynomials, factoring, and basic operations with polynomials.

Coordinate Geometry:
Understanding the Cartesian coordinate system, graphing linear equations, and interpreting graphs.

Word Problems:
Students will apply their algebra skills to solve real-world problems involving basic algebraic concepts.

Basic Geometry:
Early studies will focus on shapes, angles, lines, and basic properties of geometric figures such as triangles, rectangles, and circles.

Theorems and Postulates:
As students progress, they will study key theorems such as the Pythagorean Theorem and the properties of polygons and circles.

Surface Area and Volume:
Understanding the concepts of area and volume for various shapes such as prisms, pyramids, and spheres.

Transformations:
Introduction to transformations such as translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations, along with their geometric properties.

Trigonometric Functions:
Students will learn about the six trigonometric functions (sine, cosine, tangent, secant, cosecant, and cotangent), and how to apply them in right-angled triangles.

The Unit Circle:
Introduction to the unit circle and how it relates to trigonometric functions and angles.

Applications of Trigonometry:
Use of trigonometric functions in real-life applications such as architecture, physics, and navigation.

Limits and Continuity:
Students will be introduced to the concept of limits, the foundation of calculus. They will learn how to evaluate limits and understand continuity in functions.

Derivatives:
The study of the derivative, representing the rate of change, and applying it to problems in physics, economics, and biology.

Integrals:
Introduction to the concept of integration and its applications in finding areas under curves, solving differential equations, and calculating accumulated quantities.

Applications of Calculus:
Real-world applications such as optimization, motion problems, and economics.

Probability:
Students will learn about basic probability concepts, including theoretical and experimental probability, compound events, and the use of probability trees.

Descriptive Statistics:
Introduction to measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode) and measures of dispersion (range, variance, standard deviation).

Inferential Statistics:
The study of sampling, hypothesis testing, and confidence intervals, with a focus on how to make predictions and decisions based on data.
